Off Her Trolley, The Show

pre-rehearsal photo 'Off her Trolley' looks at the effects of Alzheimers' disease for the individual, their loved ones and their carers, and it illustrates the shortcomings of private care, but its positive, and I'd like to think, uplifting, as well.

Elderly people , and especially those with dementia, do not have a voice, but as a carer I hear their voices, and I see who they are. Its natural for me to show how communication is possible, even when it seems its not, and to share with you the positive things that older people can teach us.

But I'm not going to stand up and 'preach' for an hour, not at all, I want to entertain you as well...but I'm not going to do all the work. The show is interactive (in parts) but dont worry, I'm not going to 'pick on' anyone, its gentle, and I'm gentle, but maybe if you've had a beer or two you can help me with my 'singalong,' if not, then I do have a soundtrack (and quite a loud voice people tell me).

At the least though, I expect you to listen, and to listen well, or else you'll miss something.
